HOW TO SELECT THE RIGHT CONTENT FOR GEO OPTIMIZATION? – Part 2
Once you understand the three fundamental pillars of GEO:
The next step is defining what type of content can truly provide value to your potential customers while also being easy for generative AI engines to understand and interpret.
There are many formats that can help strengthen your GEO strategy: white papers, market studies, comparison guides, case studies, CRM insights, technical guides, industry analysis, and specialized articles. However, many B2B companies make a common mistake: they focus almost exclusively on creating commercial documents such as product catalogs, technical sheets, or corporate presentations.
These resources are necessary and represent basic sales assets for any organization. Your website should absolutely include them. But having these materials available does not mean your content is optimized for GEO.
The purpose of GEO is not only to explain what you sell. It is to answer the questions your buyers have before they decide whether they need your solution. The key is changing your perspective.
Do not only ask: “What information do I want to communicate about my product?”
Also ask: “What questions does my potential customer need answered before they feel confident making a decision?”
From this perspective, we can follow five steps:
1. Ask Yourself: What Would My Buyer Ask?
The first step is identifying the real questions your customers have. Analyze:
- Frequently asked questions received by your sales team.
- Concerns raised during sales conversations.
- Common objections before purchase.
- Different needs from stakeholders involved in decision-making.
- Questions from end users.
Remember that a B2B purchase usually involves multiple perspectives. A financial director, technical manager, and end user may all evaluate the same solution from completely different angles. These questions are valuable sources of information for creating GEO-focused content.
2.Generate Direct and Specific Answers
Generative AI engines prioritize clear answers. When users ask a question, they expect a response that is quick to understand and easy to apply. Therefore, avoid starting with broad corporate explanations. Instead:
- Define the problem.
- Explain the solution.
- Provide supporting arguments.
- Include data whenever possible.
- Add practical examples.
A strong GEO answer should be understandable for both humans and artificial intelligence systems.
3.Create Valuable Content Adapted to GEO
Once you identify the questions, define the best format to answer them. Not every answer needs to become a blog article. Depending on the situation, more effective formats may include:
- Comparison tables.
- Practical guides.
- Frequently Asked Questions (FAQs).
- Case studies.
- Infographics.
- Educational videos.
- Technical documents.
- Interactive tools.
The goal is to present information in a structured, clear, and easily consumable way.
4.Expand Your Answers Beyond Your Own Website
Although your website is the center of your GEO strategy, authority is not built exclusively within your own domain. Participate in spaces where your potential customers are already looking for information:
- Industry forums.
- Professional communities.
- Strategic partner publications.
- Industry associations.
- Specialized platforms.
Sharing knowledge genuinely helps build reputation and creates stronger trust signals around your brand.
5.Measure Impact and Continuously Optimize
GEO is not a one-time action. Similar to SEO, it requires analysis, monitoring, and continuous improvement. Define a reasonable evaluation period. For example:
- Initial reviews every 3–4 weeks.
- Deeper analysis after 3–6 months.
Monitor:
- Which content receives the most engagement.
- Which questions generate the most interest.
- Which pages attract qualified traffic.
- Which searches begin associating with your brand.
Continuous optimization will be essential in a rapidly changing digital environment.
